Diamond Term Explanation

  1. From jewel, a precious stone; a gem.
  2. Karat (often confused with Carat -Ct- for gems) is used to state the amount of pure gold, 24K is pure gold. 18K is 75% pure gold, 14K contains 58.3% pure gold.
  3. An included diamond crystal which reaches the surface of a polished diamond.
